Ha & John's Rainy Wedding

Last Saturday it was absolutely pouring rain. Of all the days of the summer it rained only two days pretty much straight and one of them fell on Ha & John's wedding day. You would have thought they would have been a little upset but not one bit. They actually seemed kind of excited to use umbrellas. We didn't really need to use them though. God parted the clouds for just a couple of hours in the middle of the day right when we were heading downtown to take some group pictures. We couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather and we came away with some of my favorite pictures ever! This first one I just had to add to my website homepage- its perfect! During the reception Ha & John changed into traditional Vietnamese costumes for the cake cutting and toasts to each table. Ha looked beautiful in her Ao Dai. Too bad the rain came in again and we couldn't get more pictures with them dressed like that but I caught a few before they changed back into the white gown and tux. We wish you two the best!

Jen & Ben's Engagements in Morrison

Last week we met Jen & Ben (aka Benifer- ok not really) in Morrison for their engagement session. I love the small town feel of downtown Morrison and I think it suited them well. I had so much fun watching these two goof around and laugh at each other. The highlight of the day came when a police officer drove by the field we had climbed over the fence into. We were sure we were gonna get busted but he just turned around and drove past us. Ben this is for you- he wore a black belt with brown shoes a big no no- didn't I say I'd write this on the blog:-) Here are some of my favorites from the day.

Arianne & Brandon's Wedding

Arianne and Brandon were married on August 2nd and held their reception at the Denver Botanic Gardens downtown. This was the first opportunity we had to work with them since they live in Utah and I wasn't sure how they would react in front of the camera. But my worries were easily gone as soon as we started with pictures- they were so easy going and just a joy to work with! Even though it was a little hot (okay 103 when we left the LDS Temple) we had a lot of fun with them. This was the first time I'd been to the Botanic Gardens downtown and it was almost overwhelming with all the picture opportunities. We got so many great pictures with these two and their families- it should be a lot of fun putting together their wedding album. Here are just a few pictures- enjoy!

CRAZY busy!!

Hi everyone, I hope everybody has been enjoying this cool weather that we have been having lately, I guess we had over 20 days in the over 90 degrees mark, yuck! All is well here, this has been my craziest year yet. To date I have over 18,000 pics to edit!! Yikes. It's fun but sometimes taxing. Michelle has had a very rough summer so far; we are trying to figure out what the right dose of meds may be for her to feel better, it's been very frustrating. If it wasn't for the love of God we would have never made the progress that we have, and we thank Jesus for that everyday. So if you still have some pictures out there and are waiting for them, please don't fret, I'll get to them as soon as I can, and I thank you for your patience. Well, let's hope for more nice and cool days with NO MORE high temps! Ta Ta for now.

Blythe & Justin's E-Session

Blythe & Justin's engagement session started off great up at the Evergreen Lakehouse. We were having a good time until the rain started to come in. Just down the mountain weather is so different so we figured that since it looked like it had no intention of letting up we'd try to beat it down the mountain and head to Golden. But we were too slow and the rain continued even in Golden. We just couldn't get away from it. They were so great about the whole thing though! We tried to use an umbrella to keep them dry for most of the day but the wind came up and turned it inside out- it was hilarious! Here are some of my favorites of the day.

Fashion Portraits with Melissa in Breckenridge

It's been over a year since we've taken a vacation since Michelle has been sick but we needed at least a little break so last weekend was the perfect opportunity to take it. Michelle's mom was attending a wedding in Breckenridge so we tagged along for the weekend. While we were there we took some pics of Michelle's sister, Melissa. People probably thought we were crazy for the locations we chose. Here we were in this beautiful mountain scenery and we took pictures next to old run down houses etc. but I had my reasons- look at the awesome pictures! Breckenridge was such a blast especially during this heat wave in Denver. It was in the 60's and 70's- such a nice break from the upper 90's the last few weeks. We didn't want to leave but reality was calling. I think I might move up there... probably not but I can always dream.

Jamie & Adam's Wedding in the Rain

A week ago Friday Jamie and Adam got married. The day started out very warm but just like in the movies the rain suddenly started out of nowhere. Luckily we had a red umbrella that matched their wedding colors perfectly and they were great sports to let me send them out in the rain with it! As suddenly as the rain came it was gone and the day was cooled off nicely for the reception. The reception was a lot of fun and Jamie played the banjo with her family for Adam- I've never seen a bride play the banjo it was awesome! They exited the night with sparklers and a few people from their wedding party offered to send this message to the bride and groom. Check it out.

Engagements with Ha & John... and Savannah

Sorry about my poor blogging habits this last week. I took a mini vacation and just haven't returned mentally from it yet. It's been crazy busy so I'll be doing quite a few posts here over the next week to get caught up.

So... a week ago Thursday we met up with Ha & John downtown for their engagement session. John's adorable daughter Savannah came along for a few pictures as well. I swear this family was straight out of a magazine! Everyone knew perfectly how to pose for pictures and I'm having a difficult time narrowing down the final pics. I'm really looking forward to their wedding next week. Ha is wearing two dresses- one as the traditional gown and the other reflective of her culture. Here are just a few pictures from their engagement session.
