Erin & Jared's Downtown Wedding

Last Saturday Erin & Jared were married at the Trinity United Methodist Church downtown. It's a beautiful old church and nice and close to where they held their reception across the street at the Brown Palace. It was hard to believe this was January by the weather- it was absolutely perfect! And since the weather cooperated we were able to travel to Coors Field for a few pictures before the ceremony since this location holds a special meaning to Erin & Jared. Since the two of them opted to see each other prior to the ceremony it gave us plenty of time for great pics. Their bridal party was awesome! It's funny how sometimes things go a little different than planned but it works better than you thought. I asked the guys to just huddle around Jared for a quick pic but one of the guys decided to throw in some money and all of a sudden we had a gambling game going in front of the church. The last shot was so much fun with everyone jumping off the stairs. During the reception we snuck the two of them away for a moment to get a cool shot on the escalators at the Brown Palace. I love the way the sides glow and had been wanting to try this photo out since seeing it and I love how it turned out! Thanks guys for being such great sports! If we don't see you before hope everything is great in Africa!

What the Duck- Some Photography Humor

I found these hilarious comics online the other day and just had to share them with you. They are made for photographers by a photographer so they may only be funny to me or fellow photographers but I couldn't stop laughing while reading through pages of them. Enjoy!

Cathy & Cody's "Square" 1/4/09 Wedding

Cathy & Cody exchanged vows a week ago Sunday 1/4/09 in Littleton. As you may recall last summer we also photographed their engagements in Littleton, Cody asked her to marry him in Littleton and years ago they both attended the same elementary school in Littleton. Of course it only made sense they continue with the tradition and held both their ceremony and reception in... Littleton. The big day also was chosen in particular because of the meaning behind the day. As a math whiz and teacher Cathy carried that into the decision for the day- the first square number of the year. The square root of 1=1, the square root of 4=2, and the square root of 9=3. (For those of you who know me and my lack of math skills Michelle explained it to me). The day was a little cold but at least the snow from the day before was mostly melted and Cathy, per my suggestion, brought along a pair of boots to walk outside in. Apparently they were much more comfortable than her other shoes and she kept them on for the remainder of the evening. We had a great time photographing their wedding and wish them the best!

As for the last photo here are the cousin's and aunt & uncle of Cathy (we photographed both of her cousin's weddings). During the reception they all "literally" shuffled over for a quick photo on the dance floor- it was hilarious! Thanks guys for the referral!!!
