Engagements in the Colorado Mountains

Last Sunday I had the opportunity to photograph Renae and Josh's engagement pictures. They weren't quite sure about this whole picture thing and didn't think they knew what they were doing but as you can see by the pictures below... they were wrong. They were even willing to walk through freezing water to get some shots and well worth it! With so many great shots their guest book is going to be awesome. Enjoy these few for now.

Carla & Kyle get married!

You may remember Carla and Kyle from a few months back when we took their engagement pictures and this past Saturday they were married. They had lots of family and friends come out to wish them well. There were several children at the event one of which loved the camera. After snapping a few shots of the bride & groom he decided to try to take a few pictures of himself- precious! We wish you two the very best. Here a just a few of the many pictures we took that day.

Jessica & Mike's Engagements

The second half of our busy Sunday was with Jessica and Mike. We stayed up in the Red Rocks/Morrison area that afternoon as well. It was such a bright sunny day but luckily the clouds came in at just the right moment in the later part of the afternoon so we could get some great pics out in a field overlooking Red Rocks. The last pic is one of my favorites when Mike was placing the fallen American Flag back in place. It was so cool when Mike was twirling Jessica around she couldn't stop laughing- I love it! They were so much fun it was a great way to wrap up the day. Here are just a few photos.

Testing Backgrounds

As you may have noticed the background on my blog has been changing a lot lately. This is kind of a sneak peak of things to come for my website as well. I'd love to hear what you think- please feel free to leave a comment. Thanks!

Engagements with Loraye, Bill & Aspen

Yesterday we had a very busy day with two engagement sessions. We started the morning off up at Red Rocks with Loraye and Bill. These two really have fun together and know how to make one another laugh! They wanted to bring along Aspen their golden retriever (who will also be in their wedding) to get a few photos with the three of them together. Loraye's mother was able to come along also to keep Aspen occupied during the day. We all had such a great time. I can't wait until their wedding next Month.

Check out our NEW Guest books!

FYI: If I haven't already talked to you about this, we just got in our new Engagement Guest Books. These books are so cool. It's an 8X8 square book with 30 pages. Michelle and I design the pages and photo cover ourselves, send it off to Japan where it gets printed, and get it back in about 4 weeks; but what makes these Guest Books so cool is that your guests actually sign on the pages themselves! Each book comes with an archival safe pen for signing. Check 'em out!

My awesome new lens!

I just got a new Canon 50mm 1.2L lens to add to my collection. I had to take some photos with it as soon as I got it right out of the box. This lens is known for producing great portraits and top quality images. I'm excited to use it on my upcoming weddings and portraits. Here are a few shots I took with it. They are right out of the camera- no photoshop at all!! I love the bokeh effect (blurring) it creates around the edges of the image- it is so cool.
