What a great way to end a busy month. Renae & Joshua's wedding was beautiful, HOT, but beautiful. We a had such a great time with these two and their families. My favorite moment was when the sun was setting and the lighting was "oh so right" for some awesome pics of Renae. They kept telling us before we arrived that there wasn't really anywhere to take nice pictures around the site, boy were they wrong we found so many great spots especially with their willingness to let me drag them around everywhere. Check out the pics!
Probably one of the most fun parts to the wedding day for a bride is to be a princess for the day and to wear a beautiful dress. So when the opportunity comes up again to put that dress back on why not take it. Loraye and Bill were married last month and unfortunately the ceremony was set for pretty late in the evening so by the time it was over it was dark outside and the chance for pictures was gone. So, we set up a session to take some more pictures in wedding attire. They both love the Colorado/Mountain scenery so Golden was the perfect place. We weren't too sure about the weather but with an umbrella in hand we were ready for rain if it came. Luckily it held off other than a few sprinkles and we were able to get lots of great pictures. These two are such great people and we were so glad to get the chance to work with them another time. Take a look at some pics from the day.
The second half of our busy weekend was with Jessica and Mike for their Sunday brunch wedding. After a crazy evening the night before we were a little tired getting up on Sunday but it was so worth it when we got to their wedding. Their wedding was one that makes me remember why I LOVE this job. The bride and groom are such nice people and their friends and family were so much fun too! They had a Norwegian wedding cake in addition to their traditional wedding cake (both hand made and absolutely delicious). Michelle's grandmother is from Norway so we thought this was a really cool tradition. Here's a sneak peak from the day. Enjoy!
Last weekend was pretty busy beginning with a wedding on Saturday at the Inverness Hotel. It was a very warm day on 2nd day of Summer... sorry Kate it wasn't the first day of summer:-) Kate and Joseph were actually part of the bridal party from my wedding last week with Lindsey and Nate. This time it was their turn to tie the knot. Kate made the picture perfect bride and I guess Joseph looked ok too- haha. Here are just a few pictures from their wedding.
Last week we headed downtown for Kelly and Israel's engagement session. We started out at Union Station and made our way down to Civic Center Park on the free shuttle that runs down 16th Street Mall. Wouldn't you know it starts raining when were the furthest away from where we all parked. Luckily it only rained for a little while and we were able to get some more pics before we headed back. Israel (aka Rico Suave) and Kelly (aka Jessica... sorry) were a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to their wedding later this summer.
Here are some pics from the second day of the workshop. We were at Southlands Mall which I have wanted to photograph for some time now but found out you have to have a "special" permit to photograph there unless you want to get kicked off the premises- weird huh?
I just came back from an awesome experience from the Shoot with Beckstead workshop. I never thought I could learn so much in 3 short days. I surprised myself with some of the images that came out of my camera- never knew I had it in me. I also was provided the opportunity to meet several great photographers some that live locally and others that unfortunately live very far away but nonetheless I made some great friends. Here are some pics from our first day in Georgetown. Check back tomorrow for some images from day two.
What is Volkel Image? Well besides being part of my last name, it's my way of looking at the world and capturing it through photography. From weddings, portraits, fashion and everything in between.
Welcome to my Blog. What is a Blog? I'm not sure- but I use it to stay connected with friends in Denver Colorado and beyond.
Check back often as it is being updated all the time. Please feel free to leave comments, I love 'em!
