Book Cover Photo Shoot with Michele

A few weeks ago we had a really cool opportunity to photograph some images that will be used for the cover of a book that is currently in the works. The book is going to be about the new energy economy entitled "Modern Energy Movement" written by Michele Ashby of Mine LLC. We got connected with Michele through Sarah Edgell of Edgellworks, Inc who will be designing the cover for the book. We had a great time getting to meet both of them and photographing Michele for the cover. This was something brand new for us and we can't wait to see which image makes the cover once it is published and released. We thought we'd take a few different directions with the images. Rather than the typical "green" cliche photo Sarah & Michele wanted to do something that still will push the reader in that direction without it being a typical photograph since Michele is not typical either. Michele is a very inspirational person- among other accomplishments she has traveled around the world, started her own company, and is the founder of Dani's Foundation in memory of her daughter. It was an absolute pleasure getting to work with her and we wish her the best in the success of her book.

CD Cover Shoot with Dianne

I'm so excited to finally be able to post our session with Dianne from last month. We met her up in Evergreen in the open space for her upcoming CD that will be released this fall. She is crazy talented and plays several instruments including the violin, piano and cello that are featured on her CD. We even had the opportunity to hear a little bit of her playing the violin while we took photographs. Originally we had planned on her session at the Opera House but when things didn't work out for us to use the space as intended, we suggested going into an open field since it seemed to fit the theme of the CD and we figured we might be able to get some flowers in the shots that were similar to lilacs (since they were something she really wanted to include in the photos as well). So, armed with bugspray- to keep the mosquitos away, we started the photos close to sunset and got some beautiful shots! Although, when we were greeted by a park ranger right after starting photos we weren't sure if we were going to have to change our plans. We had only been at this particular location one other time and were unaware that we need to get a permit to photograph there. Fortunately the park ranger was very kind and allowed us to finish up our session. We had a great time photographing Dianne! She was so easy to work with and it was a blast getting to do something completely new for us. Thanks Dianne for the opportunity and we'd love to get a copy of your CD as soon as it's out! Here are just a few images we took throughout the session that she maybe using for her CD cover- enjoy!

Business Portraits at Cherry Creek with Kim

We had a great time a couple of weeks ago taking some business portraits for Kim's therapy practice. Kim is Erin's mother (we photographed Erin and Jared's engagement photos a little while back and are looking forward to their wedding next month). I just don't see the resemblance between the two, do you? Okay so they do look quite a bit alike and they are both such nice people too! Despite the cold wind that day it was pretty nice for mid November in Colorado. Here are just a few of my favorite images from the day.

Biggest Pile of Leaves.... EVER

Last weekend I decided it was finally time to pile up all the leaves that had fallen over the last month or so and get them out of the yard before the next snow. I had been postponing doing this for some time since I knew it was going to take a little while to accomplish but contemplating the possibility of what snow could do to them and not wanting to have to deal with wet molded leaves I figured I better take care of them. So here it is.... the BIGGEST pile of leaves EVER!!!! Okay maybe not ever but it sure is a lot of leaves (7 bags worth actually). This is what happens when I spend every waking minute working and in front of the computer editing photos and I neglect things like this. Oh well... it was fun piling them up though I have to say. What's better is when I invited my next door neighbor's daughter Chloe to jump in the huge pile. She was having such a blast jumping in the leaves. Don't you wish you could be a kid again sometimes just to be able to do this?

A Few More Pics with Seth... and Megan

A couple of weeks ago when I photographed some business portraits for Seth's new business cards we had a little time afterwards and took some photos of he and his wife Megan. They are still pretty much newlyweds and are such a fun couple. The visitor center in the subdivision had the perfect little pond for pictures. Here are just a few of the pics. Enjoy!

Jenson Business Portraits

A couple of days ago I took some business portraits for Jenson Realestate. These guys were so much fun. We started out at The Backcountry estates which are HUGE houses, then moved down to the visitor center to finish up. Seth Jenson really wanted pictures that felt more inviting then in a stuffy studio and I think we accomplished that. If you ever are looking for a house in the Denver metro area or beyond these guys will hook you up!

Heritage JV Cheers

This past weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the Heritage JV Cheer squad at Red Rocks. These girls were so much fun to work with! Even though it was a little chilly in the morning they stuck it out and we got some great photos. Here are just a few of the pics from the day. Thanks to their great coaches Tiffany and Kari.

"Special" friends

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been really busy! Which is a good thing! I just thought that I would show off some of my little friends that I made the other day while shooting an engagement. It's amazing what you can find while shooting with a couple. The first two are a little guy that was dumpster diving, he scored with a half a cup of ice cream! The last one is a very "special" little kitty, this is my cat Summit; he may look crazy in this picture, but I assure you he is a real sweetheart. I'll be back real soon with some more posts, God bless!
